We Are Giants Fans: Open letter to the national... →
sanfranciscosangel:
Dear national sports media media, each of you writing your own overly intellectualized piece on Buster Posey,
I, a San Francisco Giants fan, understand that Scott Cousins did not break any rule.
I understand that there are decades of precedent of physical plays at the plate.
I am not a moron.
I do not want Cousins suspended, fined, or reprimanded in any way. I do not want...

Hello, friends...
Obviously, I haven’t been posting here much, and I’ve been ignoring that personal tumblr I made forever ago entirely.
So, I think I’ll log out of here and hang out over there for a while. The URL is thecolorofmagic.tumblr.com. There will still be baseball, but there will be some other stuff too. Doctor Who, Disney, Sharks, my own pictures, whatever…
I’ll try and log...

Happy Birthday, Willie Mays →
“I’ll always take care of him. I wish him a happy 80 more,” said Giants equipment manager Mike Murphy, a bat boy when Mays and the Giants moved west in ‘58. “I think of him as a father, and he thinks of me as a son.”…
…“Willie walked into the house and figured out the situation immediately,” Simmons recalled. “He said,...

I hope when people think of Phillies fans from now on, they will bring up the entire stadium chanting, “USA”. What a beautiful thing!
I got goosebumps.

Q&A with Doug Greenwald: Part One →
So, Britt is amazing and does stuff like arrange interviews with Doug Greenwald (Fresno Grizzlies announcer) via Twitter. And Doug Greenwald is amazing and writes zillion word essays for random baseball nerds on the internet.
Excuse me while I flail absurdly in the corner for a bit.

But Vai has a more important calling in meteorological science. And as fate would have it, he nearly caught a comet off his brother’s bat tonight.
Vai and his buddies bought tickets in the third deck in right-center field. They were thrilled when they saw that Nate was in the lineup – just his second start of the season. That was a huge stroke of luck in itself.
Now imagine their eyes growing...

They might be Giants!
The San Francisco Giants might not have played today, but it was a fun day in the minors.
The littlest Giants started off with Gary Brown hitting a single and stealing second base on the next pitch. They never looked back from there and shut out Lake Elsinore 4-0. Ryan Cavan had a heck of a night too with a home run and a double.
The Flying Squirrels won 6-4 after falling behind 4-0. Kudos to...
